Let's celebrate!

Celebration Boxes are mixed media, collage art boxes.  They are created to celebrate a special person or people, child or grandchild, a love, a wedding, an anniversary, a birthday, friendship, graduation, retirement... yourself or just about anything you can think to celebrate!   You can give one a home that is already created from the heart using fun recycled materials and other found objects, ready to proclaim love, celebrate someone or something special, or just hold all your hopes and dreams. You can also order one designed and created from information you provide, such as special dates, events, interests, and stories.  They are often made even more personal by adding pictures, and other special items in collage style on the box.  You just tell me what you want to say with your Celebration Box and we'll work together to make it as unique as the person or people it is intended to celebrate!

About Commissions...I look at each commission as an opportunity to help share someone's story through art.  I want the piece I create for you to reflect you.  I want it to make a statement, your statement.  My hope for every piece of art that I create is for it to be the vehicle by which you can SAY SOMETHING... about yourself, to another, or to the world!  So, what do you want to say today?

 JUST FYI... NO PICTURES WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF ANY CELEBRATION BOXES!  Only copies were used.  Okay, let's all breathe a collective sigh of relief!

People often use the Wedding boxes at their wedding reception.  They put pens and paper beside them for all their guests to write messages, advice, and best wishes and then slip them inside the box!  This makes a great gift  to cherish for years to come.  Remember, the boxes can be tailored to the wedding colors, your home's colors, or just your favorite colors!  You decide!  As with any of the other Celebration boxes, I can incorporate personal items into the design as well!

 Old toys, a baseball, announcements, awards, a lock of hair, tickets, jewelry, watches, a piece of a truck, door knobs, keys... just some of the very cool things I have had the honor of incorporating into these personal celebrations!

Too fun!

 

On the memory type boxes (particularly for the guys) I often paint trompe l'oeil (meaning fool the eye-it looks real but it's not) items on what looks like a desk top on the top of the box.  I always try to paint items that are unique to the person, like something that they always carry in their pocket or their favorite food or candy.  It is a very fun and personal touch.
